The massacre and the destruction of the prosperous enclave, dubbed \u201cBlack Wall Street,\u201d was the single largest incident of racial violence in American history. While the neighborhood was razed, the survivors weren\u2019t deterred as they rebuilt Greenwood over the coming decades.
